One man wanted to quit smoking. He said to me that he wants to stop smoking, because the cigarettes are too expensive now.
So, his goal is money saving. Does it mean, if he will find a better job, he will start to smoke again? Very possible, because his real goal is saving the money! It means that he won’t stop smoking for good.
The setting an intention is #1 step for becoming a non-smoker! Why do you want to quit smoking? This is a question for any smoker who decided to quit.
There must be a reason, a motive for quitting smoking. For example, the health issues. But some smokers don’t have a fear of emphysema, they simply don’t believe in any illness they can get.
If a smoker knows for sure why he or she wants to stop smoking, only then they can quit smoking easily. How to find out what you want? Why you want to do something?
Well, this can be done with hypnosis. We, the consulting hypnotists, talk to the subconscious mind. That’s it. A hypnotist asks a hypnotized client the simple questions.
That is why it is so easy to find out if a smoker wants to quit or doesn’t want to quit smoking, and why he or she wants to do that.
But of course, if a smoker doesn’t want to stop smoking in the first place, hypnosis won’t make him or her become a non-smoker. Nobody can be hypnotized against his or her will!
Do you know why do you want to stop smoking?

Sometime consciously you want to do something, but subconsciously you don’t want to do that and you even don’t realize it. That’s why it is not easy to quit smoking, if there is a conflict between a smoker’s two parts of mind.
How to make peace, how to clear a goal? You have to know what you want! When you know what you want then it is easy to achieve it.
For example, if you are a smoker and you decided to quit smoking, then you have to find out why you want to quit.
Does your wife, or your boss want you become a non-smoker? Do you want to save extra $350-$750 a month? (By the way that’s a good goal).
Do you have the health problems? (becoming a healthy non-smoker is a great goal as well!) All this questions have to be asked and answered.
When you know exactly why you want to quit smoking, you can succeed, no doubt!
Not knowing why to stop smoking will cause you fail to become a non-smoker!

Next question a smoker may ask me: “How do I know why I really want to quit smoking?”
Well, as I said before, you can FEEL what answer is right for you, because we think consciously and feel subconsciously.
Check yourself now: Picture yourself as a non-smoker, pay attention to your feeling. If you FEEL this is right for you, then this is right for you! Whatever you THINK is right for you is not always right for you.
So you have to FEEL your wanting to quit smoking. Something that is pushing you to do something about your smoking problem, something that makes you look for help.
I remember when I told of my clients that I have an office in Upper West Side, he said to me : “Oh, it’s too far for me, I live in Brooklyn”.
Now it is obvious that he is not ready to stop smoking, he doesn’t want to quit on a subconscious level. Even if he will come to me for a hypnosis session, he won’t quit!
100% self-motivation is a must. Ethically we, the consulting hypnotists, can’t make any smoker wants to quit smoking.
Once again: A smoker has to be 100% motivated to stop smoking. His or her real reason for quitting smoking has to be known. When the goal is clear, then quitting smoking with hypnosis will be just an easy task to do for achieving that goal.
